10.27 Michelene + Eddie = Brady Bunch

bride_and_groom_walkingMy last day of work in Vermont was on Thursday. On Friday, I left for New Orleans, stopping for 4 days mid-way to celebrate my cousin Michelene’s wedding.  She and Eddie got married in Greenville, South Carolina.  They both have children from a previous marriage. Eddie’s boys and Michelene’s girls are all the same age, and its a pretty wild crew.

The ceremony was really special because it focused on the joining of the two families. Both parents recited vows to the other’s children and at the end of the ceremony the entire family created a circle to symbolize their union.

Every wedding I attend is emotional, but this one was especially meaningful because it was family. Michelene is six years older than me.  She has been that super cool, slightly older cousin, who I have idolized my whole life. She is one of the funniest, happiest people I know. You want to be around her, and are happier when you are. I am so happy she found someone. Cheers to the Brady Brunch!
